Saturday Morning Cartoons

Hey all,

Yes I haven't written here in a while... sew me. :P But in my defense... come to think of it I have no real defense so let us just attribute this to laziness or procrastination. ^-^ And I've been on a vacation last week so whatever.

Anyway, I figure it's only fitting that I bring you a Saturday Morning Cartoon for your troubles of waiting. This time I'll put a lot of them as per my usual apology. However they all come from the same cartoon. Kind of. Anyway, without further ado, I present to you:

Kidd Video

So as you can see the premise of the show was that a bunch of teens -- or young adults -- who are part of a band get sucked into the cartoon world by this evil dude who wants them to do musical labor work for him.

Now since this was obviously a band that was formed for the purpose of the show, they kinda had to show some of their work at the end of the episodes... which turned out to be pretty decent. Here's a glimpse at them.

Kidd Video - A Little TLC

Kidd Video - You Better Run (Sorry for the bad quality, it's either this or out of synch. :/)

Kidd Video - Come Back to Me

Kidd Video - Video Romeo

Kidd Video - Time

Kidd Video - Where Did Our Love Go?

Kidd Video - It's Over When The Phone Stops Ringing

Kidd Video - Easy Love

Yeah I guess that should be enough to tide you over. ^-^

Until then, this is me signing off.

Saturday Morning Cartoons

Hey all,

I know it's been a while since i last posted anything. But for you this means more then one cartoon intro. Although, I will do it themed again. Why? Because it's my blog. ^w^

So without further ado, I present to you Spider-Man through the years.

Spider-Man 67

Spider-Man 81

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends

Spider-Man 94

Spider-Man Unlimited

Spider-Man: The New Animated Series

The Spectacular Spider-Man

Anybody who knows me knew that this post was bound to come up. What can I say? I just love superheroes. And my favorite one is Spider-Man.

Perhaps in a small way I kinda fell a kin ship with him even after my coming out. And no I don't do whatever a spider can. I'm talking more about the fact that he has to keep himself hidden from the rest of the world. And I guess also the living with the consequences of your actions aspect of the comic his very strong for everyone. Or at least for me. (With great powers, comes great responsibilities.)

I think that's what makes him so popular. He's not a super powerful hero, but he his very human. It's a wonder he didn't have a burn out at the age of 18 what with going to school, helping with his aunt May's money problems and fighting off the Sinister Six. I think that when the odds are against you, just look at Spidey's life. He may be just a fictional character in a comic. But if you take a look at his life, I'm sure you can find solace in yours by saying: "Well, at least I don't have to fight an eight limbed octopus man and a rhino man at the same time."

I'm just saying.

Until then, this is me signing off.

Bonus:
There was also two live interpretations of Spider-Man way before the movie came out. While the one that's made here was kinda obvious since there was other superheros on North American TV, like Batman and Wonder Women, the one that was made in Japan is kinda puzzling. Especially since he had a giant robot with him. Go figure...

Saturday Morning Cartoons

Hey all,

Another cartoon that I liked that was more geared towards girls was She-Ra: The Princess of Power. It was basically He-Man but for girls and, like many cartoons of the 8o's, a half hour commercial for toys. Tell you what though, I'll put bought of them up here so there won't be any fight -- but I'm putting She-Ra first. ^-^

She-Ra

He-Man

Interesting fact. I used to have a lot of He-Man toys actually, (Remember, I was born a boy and I actually had all the Rambo toys too.) And when She-Ra came out I totally wanted her. My parents where kind of reluctant at first since it was considered a girl toy. But I convinced them by saying I wanted her because she was He-Man's sister. Although with hind sight, I think I had ulterior motives for wanting it. *grins*

Until then this is me signing off.

Saturday Morning Cartoons

Hey all,

So you might of noticed that a lot of the cartoons I've put up since now have been more for boys. Or rather cartoons that boys would be more interested in considering the subjects of the shows. But being a geeky Tgirl, you have to realize that most of the stuff that is interesting for boys are also interesting to me. That being said, I did like some cartoons that had more of a girl audience in mind.

And one of them that I think was very much influence on me being a Tgirl was Jem. No I'm not saying that she looked like a transvestite... even though she dressed very much outrageously. But I did like all of the stuff that she was wearing in the show and I also was very jealous of that -- I kept thinking; 'Why won't I be able to wear those beautiful dresses.' Little did I know at that time that it was actually possible. ^-^ So without further ado, I present to you the intro to Jem.

Jem

See what I mean. This girl was awesome.

Until then this is me signing off.

Saturday Morning Cartoons

Hey all,

Ok so again I missed a couple of saturdays, but you all know what that means though. Yes more then one videos. ^-^ Lucky you. However there's a twist to this though. See it will all be the same show, but different versions of it. ( Japanese, english, etc. ) Dragonball Z probably is one of the most influential Anime that was ever created. You've all at least heard of it for sure if you've never seen it. I'll admit right away it's not for everyone, but like Tezuka sama's Tetsuwan Atomu/Astroboy, Dragonball had fans around the world.

Japanese Opening 1

Japanese Opening 2

Japanese Opening 3 ( For the 20th anniversary of the show. )

English Opening ( Sorry couldn't find a better quality with that song. )

German Opening 2

French Opening

Spanish Opening

Ok I think this should cover it. ^-^ ( That and you might not even be albe to read this right now since there might be to many videos on my page. O_o )

Until then this is me signing off.

Saturday Morning Cartoons

Hey all,

No I didn't miss it last saturday. I was actually out of town to visit my parents. So no bonus for you guys. :P But I think the intro is still pretty cool in itself.

Pac-Man

I'm sure this brings back memories to some if not most of you. I hope you've enjoyed. ^-^

Until then, this is me signing off.

Saturday Morning Cartoons

Hey all,

Yet again we will delve into our collective childhood to rummage through old memories of the past. Today I bring an entry that has two intros. But are at the same time very different. ( You'll understand better when you'll watch them. ) So without further ado, I present to you:

The Real Ghostbusters

And also: Ghostbusters

I can actually hear you say: "What the frak?!". I know, I was very confused too when I was younger. Especially since I really loved the GhostBusters movie. You can imagine my surprise the first time I saw two GhostBusters show in the TV Guide and was treated to two very different shows. I just thought it would be double the proton pack fun. The second show turned out to have a Gorilla in it.

Still, Ghostbusters had it's own thing going for it. And I have to admit it was pretty interesting none the less. In fact, I think my dad preferred this one instead of The Real Ghostbusters show with Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston. It was based on a live-action television show for kids in the 70's called The Ghost Busters.

Apparently there was a big brou-ha-ha made about the licensing of the name when it came time to make the cartoons. So the cartoon based on the movie was named the Real Ghostbusters just to differentiate the two series.

So now you know... and knowing is half the battle. ^w^

Until then, this is me signing out

Saturday Morning Cartoons

Hey all,

It's saturday again. And here's another intro for you guys to watch. This week I chose something that, at the time, didn't know was anime. I'm sure a lot of you had cartoons like that. But anyway, here goes.

Robotech

Robotech is a united states adaptation of the early Macross anime universe. It basically took three separate series and mashed them into one. Robotech represents what is wrong with bringing an anime states side. However, the contents of the series was still pretty interesting and in many respects, Robotech is considered as being responsible for igniting anime fandom in North America.

Here's the Japanese intro of the first series just for kicks. ^-^

Until then, this is me signing off.

Saturday morning cartoons

Hey all,

So I want to start something. Every saturdays, ( Or most every saturdays. ) I will put up a video of a cartoon intro. Why? you ask. Because it's my blog and I can. ^w^

But mostly for the hell of it. And also part nostalgia. I was thinking about just putting cartoons from the 80's but I figure that after a while it will probably be limiting. So I'm going for everything here. Even Anime intros I really I really like. ( And most possibly in their original versions too. ) And since I'm french canadian, you will probably hear see some french intros. ( Just giving you guys a heads here. ) So without further ado, I present to you the first intro to ever grace this blog. Watch out now. I'm starting strong.

Chuck Norris Karate Kommandos

So, who stars in who's Karate Kommandos? And WTF is this about deadly dolphins. Seriously I thought dolphins were supposed to be friendly. Oh well.

Since this is the first edition of Saturday Morning Cartoons, I've decided to put up another video. This one is from my favorite anime series.

Lupin the 3rd

Lupin the 3rd is just about the mischiefs of this gentlemen thief and his friends. It's very a good show considering it's age too. Think of it as Sherlock Holmes meets James Bond. I fell in love with this character after watching Hayao Miyazaki's Castle of Cagliostro.

For obvious reasons, I never watched Chuck Norris Karate Kommandos. I mean, anything that has killer dolphins probably sucks ass. Plus it only had 5 episodes. But obviously, Chuck Norris only needs 5 episodes. ^-^

Ok well that's it for today.I hope you liked the first installment of SMC. Come back next week for another one.

Until then, this is me signing off.
